In Loving Memory Of
Emily Ruth Fosh

Obituary

On June 6, 1943 Harvey and Freddie Emma Ellison welcomed a baby girl, Emily Ruth Fosh into the world. Her birthplace was Talbotton, Georgia. However, she grew up in Cleveland Ohio. Emily grew up as an only child. Though being an only child, she had a whole host of relatives, such as aunts, uncles and many cousins. Through marriage she gained in-laws and many nieces and nephews, that she loved so dearly.

She was a vibrant young girl growing up in the Hough area, where she became close friends with the Fosh family. There was one member in the Fosh family that she became particularly fond of. His name was Samuel. After Samuel proposed to his beautiful sweetheart Emily, they were married on June 6, 1961. Afterwards, the two would welcome their only son Samuel Fosh Jr. into the world. Emily loved spending time with her family. They were a close knit threesome. In the early days, she enjoyed doing fun activities with them, such as going to the Cleveland Metropolitan Zoo, the Aquarium, Cedar Point, and the Miles Drive-In, just to name a few.

Emily attended Cleveland public schools from elementary school through high school. While in high school she became quite proficient in sewing, typing and prided herself in her beautiful penmanship. Emily had a passion and talent for music. She was self-taught in developing the ability to play the piano well by ear. She also enjoyed singing and harmonizing with others. These musical skills she was able to pass on to her only son. Even though these are the things that she had a passion for, her greatest love was worshiping God as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She was dedicated and baptized in the mid-60s. During that time she attended the Arlington congregation. She participated in the door to door ministry that Jehovah's Witnesses are popularly known for. She also developed a special skill in witnessing informally to people. Her warm welcoming smile and kind demeanor made the Bible's message of hope appeal to the hearts of people that she talked to-anywhere and in any situation. Emily passionately believed that her loving escorts to help people learn Bible truths would be blessed by Jehovah. She experienced great joy when she assisted an entire family to become Jehovah's Witnesses. She also encouraged her own family members to become worshippers of Jehovah. This included her husband, son, mother, and brother-in-law. Even though certain health problems started to develop in Emily's life, she still took delight in being at her Christian meetings on Zoom, which she was able to view her last meeting with the Arlington congregation on April 13, 2024, the day she expired.

Many friends and relatives are going to miss Emily. Her sweet and pleasant disposition is what made her so dearly loved by many. Also, the love that she showed for God's name is what made her loved by her God Jehovah. Yes, we long for the day when Jehovah brings her back to us. We long for the day when Jehovah fulfills his promise to reunite us with his faithful servant Emily Ruth Fosh.
